As the previous pic shows, I got a new BeagleBone Black today. In the long run it’s intended to be the brains of a yet-to-be-built robot I’ve been thinking on. I will not give spoilers since I’m in no real rush to get it done. In the short run I just plan on using it to try to further re-kick my interest in playing with electronics and programming.
Among the things I want to do is fiddle with object recognition via OpenCV. So I acquired an old, unused logitech camera that was lying about and figured it’d take me some hours to get things working. Much to my surprise it, more or less, worked out of the box on the BBB’s default Ångström install. Awesome. It’s been a long time, but I’m not used to things just working on Linux.
This is gonna be fun.
